Best of Luck to Our 14 Olympians

University of Melbourne students, alumni and Sports Association club members will represent Australia in fencing, modern pentathlon, rowing and water polo in Beijing.

Watch for –

Victoria Brown – Water Polo: Fighting for one of two goal-keeping spots in the Australian women’s team. A Grad Dip Property Evaluation student and Melbourne University Sport (MUS) High Performance Scholar.

David Crawshay – Rowing: An Arts (Hons) graduate competing in his second Olympic Games. Men’s captain of the Australian rowing team, he pairs in the Double Scull with Scott Brennan (they won Bronze at this year’s Swiss World Cup).

Kim Crow – Rowing: Competes in the Women’s Pair with Sarah Cook. A Law/Media Communication student, Kim has won World Championship and World Cup medals and is a MUS High Performance Scholar.

Angela Darby – Modern Pentathlon: Australia’s sole female representative in Modern Pentathlon and reigning Victorian, Australian U/20 and Oceania Champion. A MUS High Performance Scholar and Bachelor of Architecture student

Karsten Fosterling – Rowing: Men’s Sweep reserve (Melbourne University Boat Club [MUBC]).

Sarah Heard – Rowing: Women’s Eight stroke (MUBC).

James Marburg – Rowing: Men’s Four (made famous by Melbourne University alumnus Nick Green and the Awesome Foursome). Qualified for Beijing with a first in the June World Cup in Poland. (MUBC)

Cameron McKenzie-McHarg – Rowing: Graduate, former MUS High Performance Scholar and Sports Blue recipient. Rowing in the Men’s Four with James Marburg.

Alice McNamara – Rowing: Lightweight Quad Scull World Champion (non-Olympic event) and Lightweight Double Scull reserve for Australia (the World Champion). Alice is an MUS High Performance Scholar studying Commerce/Science.

Amber Parkinson – Fencing: National Epee champion and Beijing Epee contender. Won Silver at the 2008 Asian Fencing Championships.

Lizzie Patrick – Rowing: Cox of the Australian Women’s Rowing Eight for Beijing (MUBC).

Catriona Sens – Rowing: Second time Olympian, Catriona (MUBC) will row in the Double Scull with team-mate Sonia Mills.

Phoebe Stanley – Rowing: A Women’s Sweep squad member seeking to row in Australia’s Olympic Eight. Science graduate and former MUS High Performance Scholar, with a Sports Blue.

Sarah Tait – Rowing: Women’s Captain of the Australian rowing team, rowing in the Women’s Eight in Beijing. Natural Resource Management student.
